Dave Shears

Dave Shears is a lover of the arts. He discovered this passion after receiving a bass guitar for Christmas at fourteen years old. From various high school bands to founding the award-winning pop rock group RocketRocketShip, Shears has performed in venues all across Canada, opening for some of the country's biggest artists.

In subsequent years, Shears put down his bass and started working behind the scenes in the music industry. With a diploma in Executive Office Management from the College of the North Atlantic, he spent three and a half years as the Programs Manager at MusicNL before branching out to start the music services company Hurricane Music with business partner Matt Dines. Named the 2023 MusicNL Industry Professional of the Year, his main focus is artist management. He currently has an eclectic roster which includes With Violet, Baraka, Rosemary Lawton, Kitchinparti, & Jing Xia. However, he is also involved with many other facets through Hurricane Music such as event production, grant writing, music production, consultations, and marketing.
